3 Ways of Increasing Garment Production
What is Production?
Production
is the final output derived from the raw materials with the use of man (labor),
machine and efforts at a particular time. We
know that the formula to calculate production is-
Daily
Production = Hourly Production by Operator × No. of machines X Working Hour per
Day
Say, for example, A polo shirt
factory has 200 machines and it
works 10 hours/day. Each operator
makes an average of 12 pieces per hour. Then
the production will be-
Daily
Production = 12 × 200 X 10 = 24,000 Pieces
3 Ways of Increasing Garment Production
Now the question is how we can improve this production?
If we notice the production
calculation formula, we find three factors. They are-
1. Hourly Production by Operator
2. No. of machines
3. Working Hour per Day
As all of the factors are multiplying
factor in the formula, the final production will increase,
If we increase any value of them.
Let’s see practically,
1. If the hourly production rate of operator
increase, the final production will increase.
For the above example, if we put
hourly product from 12 to 15, then the production will be-
Daily Production = 15 × 200 X 10 = 30,000 Pieces
Which
is greater than 24,000
2. If the number of machine increase,
the final production will increase.
For the above example, if the number
of the machine is 220 instead of 200, then the production will be-
Daily Production = 12 × 220 X 10 = 26,400 Pieces
Which
is greater than 24,000
3. If the working hour per day
increase, the final production will increase.
For the above example, if the working
hour increase from 10 to 11, then the production will be-
Daily Production = 12 × 200 X 11
= 26,400 Pieces
Which
is greater than 24,000
The improvement has been shown in
