What is Line Balancing?

Line balancing is the process of designing a smooth workflow across the entire line by allocating capacity in such a way that same amount of work is processed in every operation at any point in the day.

Line balancing levels the workload across all processes in the production system. Proper line balancing removes bottleneck, excess capacity as well as over and under capacity from the line.
