Calculate of Overall Line Efficiency in Garments Industry?
Operators usually
get 8 hours in a day of working. But the entire day, they cannot produce
garments. Some time is spent as off standard activities and some are spent as
idle time.
When calculating On standard Efficiency, all the time of off standard activities and lost time are deducted. But when we calculate Overall Efficiency, all of the time are included.
Overall
Efficiency Calculation Procedure
When all of the above information is available, the following formula can calculate the overall Efficiency.
Overall Efficiency = (Total Production × Garments SAM )/(Total Working Hour
× Total Manpower × 60) × 100%
For Example,
A line produces
900 pieces of garments in 8 hours shift day.
Standard minute of this garment is 15 minutes and the Total no. of manpower (Operators + Helpers) is 25.
