Garments Production
How to Calculate Hourly Production Target in The Garment industry
The calculation of hourly production targets for a
particular style in clothing manufacturing is frequently required for the
purpose of setting up production targets and proper planning. The hourly
production target is determined for each operator as well as for the entire
line, based on need.
In this article, We will learn two things below.
1. Calculating individual operation’s hourly target.
2. Calculating a production line's hourly target.
1. Calculating individual operation’s hourly target.
2. Calculating a production line's hourly target.
Calculation of Hourly
Production Target For an Operation
To calculate the Hourly Production Target For an Operation,
we need
✔ SAM of Operation
✔ Average Efficiency of Operator
✔ SAM of Operation
The formula for determining the Hourly Target is
Hourly Target of Production = (60 / SAM of Operation) × Average Efficiency of Operator
Hourly Target of Production = (60 / SAM of Operation) × Average Efficiency of Operator
Assume,
SAM of an operation =0.40
Average Efficiency of Operator = 80%
SAM of an operation =0.40
Average Efficiency of Operator = 80%
Hourly Target of Production = (60/0.40) × 80% =120 pieces
Calculation of Hourly Production Target
For a Line
To calculate the Hourly Production Target For an Operation, we need
✔ SAM of garment that is running in the line
✔ Number of operators working in the line
✔ Average Efficiency of that line
To calculate the Hourly Production Target For an Operation, we need
✔ SAM of garment that is running in the line
The following formula should be used for computing the hourly production target for a production line.
Hourly Target of Production Line = ((60 × Number of operators working in the line × Line Efficiency %) /Garment SAM)
Assume,
SAM of garment =12
Number of operators working in the line = 35
The average efficiency of the Line= 60%
Hourly Target of Production for The Line = (60 × 35 × 60%)/12 =105 pieces
